I have often been asked the following question by our clients: When is the latest I can properly write my charts us? You are supposed to write your charts contemporaneously. What does that mean? Generally, if you write your charts up within 24 hours of seeing the patient, that should not be an issue. Waiting a week or more to chart your patients is not a good idea. The longer you wait, the less credibility your records have. A word to the wise!
